Linda Wang, violin
Linda Wang has been praised by critics for her “world-class artistry,” “masterful technique” and “singing jubilant tone” Since her debut with Zubin Mehta and the New York Philharmonic at age nine, Linda Wang has performed concerti with over seventy five orchestras in collaboration with such conductors as Sir Georg Solti and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra, Jorge Mester and the Pasadena Symphony, JoAnn Falletta and the Virginia Symphony; the Wisconsin Chamber, Boston Classical, Missouri Chamber Orchestras, Corpus Christi, Central Oregon, Great Falls, Cedar Rapids, West Virginia Symphonies; Boulder and Colorado Springs Philharmonics. Internationally concerto performances include the Starkenburg and Robert Schumann Philharmonies, Salzburg Chamber Orchestra, Harbin Symphony, Philippines Philharmonic, and Southern Bohemian Orchestra with whom she toured the Czech Republic. Her solo engagements have been in such venues as Carnegie Hall, Amsterdam’s Beurs van Berlage and the Berlin Schauspielhaus.
Audiences have seen her live televised performances on PBS, A&E, Germany’s ZDF and Japan’s NHK, while live radio broadcasts include NPR’s “Performance Today,” WQXR (NY), WFMT (Chicago), KUSC and KMozart (LA), Deutschland Radio and MDR (Germany)
She is String Chair and Professor of Violin at University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, also the recipient of University of Denver’s Teacher-Scholar of the Year Award, 2016 and a Fulbright Specialist. A native of New York, she has studied at Juilliard, Colburn, USC and the Mozarteum. In demand as a festival artist, master class clinician and juror she receives frequent invitations both nationally and internationally. Linda Wang performs on a 1767 J.B.
